About Vicki and
The Bear's Goldens Kennel

A small family farm, just north of Fremont, Ohio, is the home of The Bear's Goldens. I purchased my first Golden, Babe, in 1985. After 2 years of training, showing, and learning about this wonderful breed I decided to look into breeding. I had my first litter in 1987 and the rest is history. The Golden little "bears" captured my heart.

I trained with Tri-County Dog Training in Fremont for 19 years. I assisted in training, held the offices of Secretary, Assistant Training Director and Treasurer.

The ethics of breeding are of utmost importance to me. I breed according to the Golden Retreiver standard. Health clearances , a good temperament, intelligence and longevity are a must. Their awesome beauty is a given.

I am a registered AKC kennel and business but we do not have kennels on our premises at this time. My girls live , eat, sleep and play together. They have even been known to take care of each other's puppies when Mom needs a break.

All of my girls are very affectionate. They love everyone, especially children. They go to baseball and football games with me and they seem to draw kids like a magnet. They like to romp and play outside, but know their manners in our home.

My puppies are raised in our home. They are evaluated and recorded on a daily basis. As they mature, they are individually introduced to the crate and to puppy home obedience.

My litter is temperament tested before families are invited to select their puppy. I screen potential families to ensure the happiness of my puppies and buyers.

I have a written contract and health guarantee. I keep in close contact when my puppies leave to go to their new homes. I'm only a phone call away for help, questions and updates.

All my girls are special to me. They are a part of my family. I give my time and heart to their puppies. When I hand that golden fur ball to his new owner, I feel like I'm handing him ten pounds of gold.
